Chance to shine - Educating through cricket

Get involved - Schools

There are lots of fun school-based activities you could do for Step up. You’ll have some great ones yourselves but here are a few of our ideas:

  • Cricket cake competition – design and make the best cricket-themed cake
  • Cake sale – perfect for kids and parents alike
  • Make a cricket tea for staff or parents
  • Fresh fruit smoothie sale
  • CricOlympics – an afternoon of fun races and cricket competitions, such as cricket ball throw andhit the stumps
  • Non-uniform day
  • Wear your whites/white clothing to school
  • Wear the colours/shirt of your favourite cricket team
  • Bowl against your teacher (if child gets teacher out teacher donates a small amount/child gets their money back)
  • "Shine for Chance to Shine" car wash – great fun and a great service!
  • Cricket-style coconut shy or ‘Splat the Rat with a Bat’ – win small prizes or your money back

We always like to hear your fundraising stories; please tell us about what you’re doing and join our Facebook fan page for up to date information, competitions and photos of you fundraising!
